Dr Anjalakshi Chandrasekar Research Award
Instituted in 2019 by Dr. Anjalakshi Chandrasekar, an eminent obstetrician and gynaecologist from Chennai, this award encourages original research among OGSSI members. It recognises outstanding work in three areas of lasting importance to women's health: Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM), Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy (HDP), and Endometriosis.
Dr. Anjalakshi Chandrasekar is the Founder President of TNFOG and served as President of OGSSI in 2019. She is a Governing Council Member of DIPSI and a life member of TAPISAR, the PCOD Society and the Indian Menopause Society. She is also a member of the Rotary Club of Chennai Medical Fraternity Branch. Since 2023, she has served as President of the Prof. Seshiah Academic Foundation for Metabolism.
She retired as Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Madras Medical College in 2009. She then continued her academic career as Professor and HOD at SRM Medical College and Research Centre (2010-2015), Annai Medical College (2016-2018) and Madha Medical College (2019-2021). She holds a Ph.D. in Pregnancy Diabetology from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and is a recipient of the Best Doctor Award from the IMA. She is currently working on the prevention of gestational diabetes (GDM) and its sequelae.

Members must submit a duly filled Initial Review Submission Form for the research proposal, along with an Abstract of the Research topic on or before 31st July

The chosen topic of research (GDM / HDP / Endometriosis) must be indicated
Final Submission
he final, completed version of the research work must be submitted as per the prescribed Table of Contents below, through mail to ogssi@yahoo.com, on or before 31st December
The Table of Contents for final submission includes: Title of the proposal, Name of the investigator, Name & contact details of the guide (if applicable), Ethical clearance, Rationale for the study, Aim of the study, Methodology, Type of study, Site of study, Period of study, Sample size (formula used), Inclusion criteria, Exclusion criteria, Data analysis, Observations, Conclusion, Limitations of the study, References, Proforma, and Informed consent form
Award
All received research works are peer reviewed and assessed. The best entry is awarded a Cash Prize during the OGSSICON Annual Conference (held in March).
